As a Controls Project Designer in our Farmington Hills, MI office, you will be responsible for providing control systems architecture and engineering design services to existing and new clients in the chemical, water and wastewater treatment industries, general manufacturing, food and beverage, and petrochemical.
Principal Responsibilities- Meet with existing clients on a regular basis to discuss projects
- Be involved in training and mentoring of staff
- Market control engineering services to existing clients
- Development and design of control systems
- Field troubleshooting of PLC and control devices
- Commissioning and start-up of systems
- Control panel design
- PLC/HMI programming
- Development of Bill of Material documentation
- Other duties as assigned
- Must be able to perform all essential duties and responsibilities listed above and have demonstrated leadership traits
- Self-starter
- Ability to perform quality control checks
- Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups
- Skill in the use of Microsoft Office programs and control systems architecture/engineering design
- Networking skills and server installations
- Commissioning and start-up experience with control systems
- Knowledge of Allen‑Bradley PLC programming / Factory Talk development
- Proficiency with Wonderware, Siemens PLC/DCS programming and HMI development, AutoCAD Electrical

- Minimum of 5 years of qualifying experience or 10 years of experience or equivalent experience
- Regularly required to sit, walk, stand, talk, see, hear, and lift objects up to 25 pounds
- Occasionally required to drive, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, reach with hands or arms and grasp or pull
- Will have exposure to outside weather conditions and loud noises
- Ability to work in an industrial setting
