We are seeking a talented and experienced Software Engineer to join our team. As a Software Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing complex software capabilities for computer-based systems. You will work closely with other talented engineers to create software solutions that meet the needs of our clients.

- Experience building and maintaining Kubernetes deployments using tools like Helm and Flux.
- Strong Java software development experience.
- Experience in designing enterprise APIs.
- Experience in RESTful web services.
- Experience in microservices architecture.
- Experience with the Agile software lifecycle.
- Proven ability to learn quickly and work well both independently and in a team setting.
- Experience with the Linux operating system.
- Experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Git, Nexus, Maven).
- Demonstrated experience serving as a tech lead, mentor, or manager for engineering teams.
- Must be able to work in a hybrid environment, spending an average of 1–2 days per week at our Columbia, MD office; flexibility is essential to adapt to schedule changes as needed.
- Experience in cloud‑based technologies (AWS, Azure).
- Experience designing and writing custom Kubernetes tooling like operators and custom CRDs.
- Experience with programming languages such as Go and Python.
- Experience with writing automation in CI/CD tooling such as GitLab CI pipelines.
- Experience in distributed databases, NoSQL databases, full‑text search engines (e.g., Elasticsearch, MongoDB, Solr).
- Scripting experience is a huge plus.
- Prior experience or familiarity with our Big Data Platform is a plus.
- Understanding of Agile software development methodologies and use of standard software development tool suites (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, GitHub Enterprise, etc.).
A current Secret level security clearance is required. Candidates cannot be sponsored or nominated for a government security clearance under this position. The position can also consider candidates with a TS level clearance.
Experience9 years experience in Software Engineering with modern Java frameworks and libraries (e.g., Spring, Guava) and a Bachelor’s in a related field; 7 years relevant experience with a Master’s in a related field; or a high school diploma or equivalent and 13 years relevant experience.
