Job ResponsibilitiesPerforms a full range of diagnostic ultrasound imaging and therapeutic services, supporting the Radiology Department's mission to provide diagnostic information for patient treatment at WVU Hospital.
Minimum Qualifications- Completion of a C.A.H.E.P. or comparable accredited training program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
- Obtain certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire.
- Completion of a C.A.H.E.P. accredited training program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
- ARRT certification in Radiology.
- Registered by ARDMS or ARRT with certification in one specialty (AB, OB/Gyn, PS, RVT).
- Obtain AB (Abdomen) certification within 1 year of hire.
Includes planning and performing imaging procedures, maintaining professional competencies, reviewing physician requests, producing quality images, maintaining confidentiality, patient education, teamwork, problem-solving, clinical instruction, evaluating student performance, professional development, adhering to ethical standards, equipment maintenance, and disinfection procedures.
Physical Requirements- Differentiate various shades of gray on monitors.
- Stand and walk for 6-7 hours daily.
- Lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
- Push ultrasound machines for portable exams.
Clinical setting with accommodations for disabilities.
Skills and Abilities- Follow written and verbal instructions in English.
- Work collaboratively in a team.
- Prioritize and multitask effectively.
