JOB TITLE: Assistant Boys Tennis Coach – Bennington High School 2026‑27

REPORTS TO: Activities Director

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Part‑Time

I. ACCOUNTABILITY OBJECTIVES: To instruct athletes in fundamental skills, strategy, and physical training so that they achieve individual and team success. The student also receives instruction that fosters moral values, pride, social behavior, self‑discipline, confidence, resilience, and teamwork. Regular, dependable, in‑person attendance is essential.

II. POSITION CHARACTERISTICS:

  • Recruited by: Athletic Director/Principal
  • Wages: Negotiated Agreement
  • Paid Vacation: Negotiated Agreement
  • Paid Holidays: Negotiated Agreement
  • Sick Leave: Negotiated Agreement
  • Work Day: Hours determined by Activities Director/Principal
  • Pay Day: Negotiated Agreement

III. POSITION RELATIONSHIPS: Reports to Activities Director. Coordinates with: Activities Director, Building Principal, Custodians, and Transportation Supervisor.

IV. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and formulate the program for grades 9‑12.
  • Oversee a systematic skill‑development program for all athletes.
  • Recommend assistant coaches, aides, and officials to the Activities Director.

  • Regular, dependable attendance on the job.
  • Perform tasks with necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Meet physical requirements outlined in the working environment.

While performing duties, the employee lifts or pushes up to 50 lb, sits most of the time, walks frequently, stands at times, reaches with hands, repeats hand/arm/finger motions, and requires manual and finger dexterity. The employee meets tight deadlines and must read fine print, have good depth perception, hear in noisy environments, and communicate clearly.
