The CONNECTIONS project is an ongoing effort to provide the development, maintenance, and support activities on the New York State’s Statewide Automated Child Welfare Information System (SACWIS) for OCFS, LDSS, and Voluntary Agencies. This system includes the following components:
- Child Protective Services (CPS) Intake
- Child Protective Services (CPS) Investigation
- Resource Directory & Foster Adoptive Home Development (FAD)
- Case Management / Family Services (FSS)
This system is a complex and highly integrated application which consists of several development and end user supported environments. These environments interface/interact with legacy applications and other 3rd party software.
This individual will assist with maintenance and new functionality design of a complex SACWIS .NET based architecture application. They will be performing activities related to writing the instruction code using WCF, WPF and .Net, testing modules and components, and providing guidance on best practices and standards for the members of the development team. They will participate in the integration of new application components and linking them into the existing .NET platform to ensure functionality is correctly developed.
The following activities are indicative of the assignments/outcomes expected of this individual:
- Participation in requirement and gathering design sessions for development of SACWIS compliant functionality.
- Modeling and documenting solutions for changes and enhancements
- Assist the Application Development team in preparing technical designs and perform construction activities
- Will work as part of the development team to perform technical activities related to writing the instruction code using WCF, WPF and .NET and testing modules and components.
- Will participate in the integration of new components and linking them into existing .NET platform to ensure functionality is correctly developed.
- Support the application through the testing, pilot, and implementation phases, including product test, stress/load test etc.
- Developing appropriate system documentation.
- Facilitate the knowledge transfer between the Technical IT staff and the Program staff responsible for testing, training, and implementation.
- Assist Implementations staff, when needed, reviewing system release notes.
- Performing reviews of other developers’ checked-in WCF, WPF, and .NET code ensuring CONNECTIONS coding standards and practices are observed.
Candidates should have at least 60 Months experience, and below should apply
Bachelor’s degree in an Information Technology related field
A copy of your diploma must be submitted with your FORM-1 document
Experience developing applications using minimum version of VB.NET 3.0 and above.
Experience using ODP.NET , SQL, PL/SQL, writing stored procedures, functions, packages in minimum version of Oracle 10g or higher.
Experience developing applications using WPF and/or WCF.
Experience working directly with users in human services staff to develop requirements, identify and analyze application problems, develop workable and business process re-engineering.
Experience working directly with users in human services staff to develop requirements, identify and analyze application problems, develop workable and business process re-engineering.
Experience performing regression and integration testing.
Experience working within a SACWIS (Statewide Automated Child Welfare Information System) based system as part of the Application Development organization developing application software.
