The Medical Assistant engages individuals in their care plans, reviews health data, and communicates with clinical team members to ensure timely follow-up. Daily responsibilities include patient outreach through phone calls and texts, documentation, device support, and connecting patients to appropriate resources. The position also contributes to health promotion efforts and supports day-to-day operations that enhance the patient experience.Responsibilities:Create a caring and positive experience for patients while addressing their healthcare needsEvaluate patients’ support systems and community resourcesMonitor and clear incoming vital sign readings according to protocolEducate patients within scope of practice on health monitoring, lifestyle tips and device usageCommunicate with supervising nurses, physicians, and care team members about patient status according to escalation protocolUse motivational interviewing to engage patients in their care plansFacilitate referrals to community resources and healthcare providersMaintain accurate patient records and ensure confidentialityConduct inbound and outbound calls, answer texts, onboard and troubleshoot devices, and assist with schedulingFacilitate disease prevention and health promotion activitiesAttend training sessions, staff meetings, and assist with data analysis.Other duties as assignedRequirements:Completion of a formal training program as a Medical Assistant (diploma, certificate, or Associate’s degree from an accredited institution), requiredORIn lieu of educational training, active Medical Assisting (MA) certification and active Medical Insurance and Coding (MIC) certificationORIn lieu of educational training, an active MA certification and six months of clinical experienceHIPAA compliant work space, requiredMinimum internet speed of 35 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload, requiredCertified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification, preferredBilingual proficiency in Spanish and English, preferredFamiliarity with healthcare systems, insurance processes, and community resources, preferredElectronic Medical Record (EMR) experience, preferredPrevious call center experience, preferredDemonstrates excellent active listening, written, verbal communication skillsDemonstrates excellent organizational and time management skillsPossesses outstanding problem solving skillsPossesses superior time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlinesKnowledge of HIPAA regulations and a strong commitment to maintaining patient confidentialityStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsResponds positively to change, showing willingness to learn new ways to accomplish tasksAdheres to high standards of personal and professional conductExemplifies Tellihealth's values: All IN , IN telligence, IN novation and IN tegrity
