Job Summary

The major responsibility is to perform clerical duties on a nursing or clinical unit. He/She will follow confidentiality expectations.

They will facilitate an atmosphere of cooperation by being professional, pleasant, and helpful to the staff, patients, and families.

Observe all general hospital and departmental policies, guiding principles, rules and regulations.

Attend orientation and complete ongoing in-service education as required.

Riverview 2 is an adult inpatient short stay unit.

Responsibilities
  • Assemble new charts.
  • Make requisitions.
  • Promptly report needed repairs to related services.
  • Answer telephone, relay messages and make necessary appointments.
  • Prepare charts for admissions, transfers and discharges.
  • Maintain forms in charts as needed.
  • Communicate with other departments in a timely manner such as PAS and the Bed Board.
  • Order and restock unit supplies.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area for self and team.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements

High school graduate or equivalent, including courses in English, typing, spelling and arithmetic. On-the-job training in hospital practices and procedures, including basic medical terminology. Must be able to perform duties under stress and in a busy nurses station.

Schedule

40/80 full time, days Mon-Fri
