POSITION DESCRIPTIONWe are looking for a Staff Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join our Grid & Energy Services team to ensure our systems are highly available, scalable, and reliable in production environments. This role will focus on system performance, observability, and operational excellence across cloud-based and distributed systems supporting energy infrastructure.
LOCATION & WORK ARRANGEMENTLocation: Remote. The candidate will be expected to relocate at their own expense to our onsite Houston location by Q1 2027.
RESPONSIBILITIES- Design, implement, and maintain reliable, scalable infrastructure and services for production systems.
- Monitor system health, performance, and availability using observability and alerting tools.
- Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and drive incident resolution.
- Build and improve CI/CD pipelines, deployment processes, and system automation.
- Collaborate with software, QA, and platform teams to improve system reliability and performance.
- Implement and support SRE best practices, including SLIs, SLOs, and incident response processes.
- Contribute to automation and AI-driven operational workflows where applicable.
- 8+ years of experience in software engineering, SRE, DevOps, or a related technical field.
- Experience working with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and distributed systems.
- Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills in production environments.
- Experience with monitoring, alerting, and observability tools.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, and deployment workflows.
- Travel may be required up to 10% depending on business needs.
- Experience in energy, utilities, or renewable systems (solar preferred).
- Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code and automation frameworks.
- Exposure to AI/ML-driven monitoring or operational tooling.
The salary range is required by the California Pay Transparency Act and may differ depending on the location of those candidates hired nationwide. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to, skill set, education, licenses and certifications, essential job duties and requirements, and the necessary experience relative to the job’s minimum qualifications.
