Senior Field Application Specialist

Additionally, COPAN offers an extensive range of laboratory consumables, including inoculation loops, needles, spreaders, and transfer pipets.
Key Accountabilities- Conduct comprehensive user training on Copan Automation to ensure customer competency, optimal utilization, and self‑sufficiency.
- Travel to new installations and be on site for up to 10 weeks Monday through Friday as required.
- Demonstrate proficiency in applying COPAN’s instruments and software by uncovering customer needs, implementing customized solutions, and facilitating rapid adoption.
- Collaborate with Field Service to enhance customer experience.
- Ensure that knowledge and trust in Copan Automation are optimal at different customer sites.
- Drive implementation processes and optimal utilization of COPAN’s automation.
- Conduct product demonstrations and promote product value to support the sales of COPAN automated platforms at tradeshows, workshops and customer sites as needed.
- Assist regional sales associates during the implementation of Copan Automation.
- Contribute to laboratory workflow productivity by maximizing the efficiency of product training.
- Routinely check that the configuration of COPAN’s automation is optimal and that customers are running QC procedures properly.
- Work with the sales team to ensure maximum utilization of COPAN LBM products (i.e., ESwab, UTM, FecalSwab, and broths, etc.).
- Support sales team and customers in ESwab, FecalSwab and other LBM validations and implementation.
- Organize, manage, and plan complex projects for Copan’s Automation product implementation efforts.
- Independently oversee a team of managers and analysts to ensure projects are completed on time and to specifications.
- Delegate work and assignments to team members based on expertise, work experience, and time constraints.
- Outline tasks involved in the project and delegate accordingly.
- Conduct cost analysis, estimate expected project costs, and prepare and implement a budget.
- Perform risk assessments, report identified risks to management, and provide recommendations for mitigation.
- Address questions, concerns, and/or complaints throughout the project.
- Act as liaison between company, customers, and vendors.
- Communicate and collaborate with sales and marketing teams to provide training and information required to promote and sell new projects, programs, and systems, if needed.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including conflict resolution and troubleshooting skills.
- Superior presentation and demonstration of products.
- Knowledge of workflow aspects as they relate to laboratory systems implementation.
- Coordination of training rotations and schedules within the laboratory to achieve cross‑training for all operators on all shifts.
- Flexibility and ability to initiate new assignments and successfully complete them.

- High level of computer literacy.
- Minimum B.S. Degree or equivalent work experience, preferably in Medical Technology, Biological Sciences, or Microbiology.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant work experience in a clinical laboratory setting.
- Prior field experience in technical clinical training.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
- Must be able to sit for long periods on airplane or in an auto to reach job destinations.
- Must have manual dexterity to operate equipment and tools required on the job.
- Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs.
- Must be able to occasionally crouch, kneel, and/or duck into tight spaces of the equipment.
- The employee will be required to stand for long periods of time. Kneeling and crouching for extended periods is also necessary.
- Must be on call during evenings/weekends as needed.
