The Vice President, Events & Experiential Strategy will lead the strategic vision, revenue growth, creative development, and operational execution of the New York Post’s live, virtual, and hybrid events portfolio. Reporting into the SVP of Marketing & Brand Strategy, this role will transform events into a scalable, high‑performing business line that drives sponsorship revenue, audience growth, community engagement, and brand elevation.
This role requires a commercially driven executive with deep expertise in experiential production, live journalism, and broadcast‑quality event execution. The ideal candidate blends strategic revenue ownership with creative and technical excellence, leveraging journalism, talent, and market influence to create premium experiences that generate measurable financial impact.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute a multi‑year events revenue strategy aligned with our long‑term strategic objectives
- Own full P&L for the events and experiential business
- Establish annual revenue targets, profitability goals, and growth benchmarks
- Design scalable sponsorship models, tiered partnership packages, and integrated brand activations
- Partner closely with Sales leadership to maximize sponsorship, activation, and experiential revenue
- Identify and launch new event‑based revenue streams (memberships, branded content, virtual lead generation, experiential extensions)
- Drive measurable strategies for growth through data collection, quantitative and qualitative analysis
- Build and manage a diversified portfolio of national and local flagship events, entertainment, cultural, and community experiences, and sponsored activations and branded experiential programs
- Evaluate and prioritize events based on ROI, audience demand, and brand alignment
- Research competitive media and experiential trends to inform innovation
- Launch new event properties that drive long‑term brand equity
- Provide expert‑level oversight of live event production, including video, livestream, and hybrid presentation
- Manage production timelines, budgets, vendor negotiations, and quality control
- Oversee a vetted roster of production, creative, platform, and experiential vendors
- Ensure seamless integration of creative experiential concepts with technical execution
- Drive continuous improvement of processes, workflows, and production standards
- Travel as needed to support on‑site event production and execution
- Partner with Sales, Marketing, Creative, Editorial, Video, Social, Product, Technology, and Communications teams to deliver on‑brand, on‑time, on‑budget experiences
- Align with Editorial leadership to ensure programming integrity and journalistic standards
- Collaborate with Marketing to drive audience acquisition, brand amplification, and post‑event engagement
- Facilitate distribution of event performance metrics across business units
- Identify and secure strategic partnerships with venues, sponsors, talent, platforms, and community organizations
- Negotiate high‑value contracts and multi‑year agreements
- Expand regional and national event footprint
- Explore co‑production models, media partnerships, and cross‑platform extensions
- Support executive leadership in long‑term strategic planning initiatives
- Oversee the full event lifecycle from concept through post‑event analysis
- Implement scalable processes, playbooks, and risk mitigation frameworks
- Lead detailed post‑event reporting and data‑driven performance analysis
- Ensure financial discipline, resource optimization, and high production standards
- 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in events, experiential marketing, live production, or media environments
- Proven track record of building and scaling profitable event portfolios with direct revenue ownership
- Deep expertise in live, hybrid, broadcast, and digital event production
- Strong commercial acumen with sponsorship and partnership negotiation experience
- Experience within or alongside media organizations preferred
- Demonstrated success managing cross‑functional teams in fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environments
- Exceptional executive presence, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to travel as needed for event production
Note: This role follows our hybrid work model and is based out of our Midtown, NY office.
CompensationSalary range: $170,900–$210,000, with an annual bonus tied to individual and company performance.
