The Medical Records Project Specialist will support the organization, relocation and secure destruction of physical patient medical records within the warehouse and office environments.
This role requires strict adherence to HIPAA policies and procedures, confidentiality, and compliance per company protocol and throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements
- Sorts, categorizes, and organizes physical patient records to include proper labeling and tracking
- Prepares records for storage, transfer or destruction
- Identifies and separates records approved for destruction and follows the internal compliance protocol on this process
- Tracks and documents destroyed records per the internal compliance protocol.
- Adheres to the HIPAA policy and confidentiality policy with respect to handling patient medical records
- Timely and accurately reports status updates on project to include discrepancies and damaged files to the VP, Growth Operations and Director Facilities
- Strong attention to detail, time management and organization skills·
- Ability to maintain and uphold confidentiality as required·
- Ability to effectively operate and navigate a computer and computer software·
- Ability to exert physical effort maintaining and distributing files
Education and Experience:
- GED or High School Diploma required
- HIPPA & OSHA Compliance certified
