Our client, a global retail and ecommerce leader, is hiring for a contract Change Management Consultant. This role will be mostly remote but will require occasional onsite in Pleasanton and San Francisco as needed.
This individual will be the overall change lead for the company's Global Point of Sale (GPOS) program, which will be replacing hardware (tablets) and software of all POS systems across all their brands. The individual must have prior experience leading a large, enterprise-level change initiative, be either trained in PROSCI or have at least 6 years as a change management practitioner. This individual should be skilled in conducting impact assessments, working cross functionally, highly experienced in stakeholder management. Retail industry experience would be a big plus.
Contract Duration: 8+ months to start, potential to extend longer term
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and execute enterprise-wide change management strategies for large-scale transformation initiatives
- Serve as the primary change management lead for cross-functional business and technology programs, ensuring organizational readiness and successful adoption
- Conduct organizational change impact assessments to identify impacts across people, process, technology, and operations
- Develop and implement change management plans, including stakeholder engagement, communications, training, and adoption strategies
- Partner closely with program leadership, business stakeholders, IT teams, operations, and external vendors to drive alignment and change readiness
- Establish and maintain strong stakeholder relationships across multiple levels of the organization, including executive leadership
- Identify organizational risks, resistance points, and adoption challenges, and develop mitigation and engagement strategies
- Support business readiness activities including process transitions, user adoption planning, rollout coordination, and post-implementation stabilization
- Facilitate workshops, stakeholder meetings, and change forums to drive alignment and decision-making
- Develop communication strategies and messaging tailored to impacted audiences across the organization
- Measure and report on change adoption, engagement, readiness, and overall program effectiveness using defined KPIs and success metrics
- Ensure change management deliverables align with overall program timelines, milestones, and business objectives
Required Experience/Skills:
- 6+ years of experience in Change Management, Organizational Change Management (OCM), or Transformation Consulting
- Proven experience leading large-scale, enterprise-level change initiatives impacting multiple business functions and user groups
- Strong expertise conducting change impact assessments and organizational readiness activities
- Demonstrated success managing complex stakeholder environments and influencing across cross-functional teams
- Experience developing and executing communication, training, and adoption strategies for enterprise technology implementations
- Strong facilitation, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple workstreams and priorities within fast-paced transformation environments
- Experience partnering with executive leadership, business teams, and technical organizations
Preferred Qualifications:
- PROSCI certification or formal change management training
- Prior experience supporting retail, store operations, POS, or customer-facing technology transformation initiatives
- Experience working within enterprise retail environments or supporting large-scale rollout programs
- Previous experience with global deployments, phased rollouts, or multi-brand organizational structures
- Experience working with Agile, hybrid, or enterprise program delivery methodologies
- Prior experience in a retail organization is a plus
