Responsibilities
- Assist patients with daily activities such as moving in and out of beds, baths, wheelchairs, or automobiles
- Provide attentive personal care and companionship
- Care for patients by changing bed linens, doing laundry, cleaning the home, and assisting with personal hygiene and grooming
- Prepare meals and assist with feeding when needed
- Run errands such as grocery shopping, picking up prescriptions, and attending appointments
- Maintain records of patient care, condition, progress, or problems to report observations to the supervisor
- Build positive relationships with patients by conversing, reading aloud, or engaging in meaningful activities to keep them mentally healthy and alert
- Provide medication reminders
- Assist with mobility, transfers, and light exercises
- Monitor patient safety and overall well-being
- Assist with toileting and incontinence care when necessary
- Support patients with daily routines and independent living skills
- Escort clients to appointments or community activities when needed
- Provide light housekeeping and homemaker services to maintain a safe and comfortable environment
- Offer emotional support and companionship to clients and families
Qualifications
- Home care experience preferred but not required
- Driver’s license required
- CPR certification required
- TB Test
