Akkodis is recruiting for a SW Development Engineer for an aerospace manufacturer in the Grand Rapids, MI area. This is a remote position with occasional travel to the site in MI. This is a contract position with a pay range of $50 an hour to $90 an hour depending on education, experience and location. These roles will support military tools programs, contributing to software development tasks in a dynamic, collaborative environment.
Base pay range$50.00/hr - $90.00/hr
- Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain software solutions using Python and C#.
- Apply object-oriented programming principles to design and implement robust applications.
- Utilize GitHub for version control and collaborate on code reviews.
- Write and maintain requirements and test procedures for software components.
- Participate in Agile sprints and manage tasks through Rally.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure integration and compliance with program standards.
- Support occasional on-site activities, including integration and customer meetings.
- Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of professional software development experience.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Python and C#; strong understanding of object-oriented programming; experience with GitHub, Visual Studio, and VS Code.
- Additional Skills:
- Ability to write requirements and create test procedures.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and sprint planning.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in aerospace or automotive industries (or adjacent fields).
- Knowledge of Cameo and SmartBear tools.
- Exposure to integration with hardware systems.
- U.S. Citizenship required for military program support.
