The Human Resources Intern supports the HR team in enhancing the employee experience from the point of offer acceptance through onboarding and early employment. This role will play an active part in helping design, build, and implement a more structured onboarding program for the organization, while also supporting new employee integration, development of a buddy program, implementation of the company’s Learning Management System (LMS), and general HR administrative support.

The intern will work closely with the HR team to support initiatives that strengthen employee engagement, training, communication, and overall organizational effectiveness.

RESPONSIBILITIESOnboarding Program Development and New Employee Integration
  • Assist in the development, organization, and implementation of a structured onboarding program for new employees.
  • Support the creation of onboarding materials, tools, checklists, and resources to improve the new hire experience.
  • Help evaluate current onboarding practices and identify opportunities for improvement, consistency, and efficiency.
  • Assist with coordinating new hire onboarding and orientation activities.
  • Help ensure new employees receive required onboarding materials, forms, and resources in a timely manner.
  • Track onboarding milestones for new employees during their first 30, 60, and 90 days.
  • Assist in gathering feedback from new hires, supervisors, and key stakeholders to improve the onboarding experience.
Buddy Program Support
  • Assist in designing and implementing a structured buddy program for new employees.
  • Help coordinate buddy assignments and monitor participation.
  • Support the creation of buddy program guidelines, tools, and resources.
  • Assist with collecting and organizing participant feedback to evaluate program effectiveness.
Onboarding Process Improvement
  • Assist in reviewing, updating, and standardizing onboarding materials and documentation.
  • Support efforts to improve onboarding workflows and administrative processes.
  • Help develop onboarding checklists and integration tools for supervisors and new hires.
  • Assist with improving communication and coordination between HR and hiring managers throughout the onboarding process.
  • Contribute ideas and recommendations to help create a more engaging and effective onboarding experience.
Learning Management System (LMS) Support
  • Assist the HR team with implementation and administration of the company’s Learning Management System.
  • Help organize training materials and upload content into the LMS platform.
  • Support tracking of training completion and maintenance of training records.
  • Assist with testing system functionality and reporting issues or improvement opportunities.
HR Administrative Support
  • Assist with HR documentation, data entry, and record maintenance.
  • Support HR communications, employee-facing materials, and internal announcements.
  • Provide administrative support for HR projects and other department initiatives as assigned.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee and business information.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, Psychology, Organizational Development, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in Human Resources, employee development, training, or organizational culture.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • This position primarily works in an office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment such as a computer, telephone, printer, and copier.
  • The role requires the ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time while working at a desk or computer.
  • The individual must be able to frequently communicate with employees, managers, and other stakeholders in person, by phone, and in writing.
  • The role may occasionally require moving about the facility, including walking through office and production areas.
  • Occasional lifting or carrying of materials up to 15 pounds may be required.
  • While in production areas, required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, hearing protection, and safety shoes, must be worn.
  • The work environment may include occasional exposure to manufacturing noise, moving equipment, and other typical plant conditions when entering operational areas.
