As a Senior Manager Data Engineering, you will lead the design, development, and delivery of enterprise‑scale data platforms across multiple clients and internal initiatives. You will combine technical mastery with strategic leadership, guiding teams in building scalable, secure, and high‑performance data solutions. Accountabilities- Lead the architecture, design, and implementation of end-to-end data platforms on cloud environments (e.g., Azure, Databricks).
- Define and oversee scalable, secure, and high-performance data pipelines for batch and real-time processing.
- Act as the technical authority across client engagements, ensuring platform reliability, monitoring, and cost efficiency.
- Mentor and grow teams of data engineers, fostering best practices in data modeling, governance, testing, and documentation.
- Collaborate with analytics, product, and platform teams to enable data products and actionable insights.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, translating business needs into robust technical solutions.
- Drive adoption of modern data stack principles, DataOps/DevOps practices, and cloud-native architectures.
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in data engineering roles with proven leadership of complex projects and teams.
- Strong hands‑on expertise in Python, SQL, and distributed data frameworks (e.g., Spark).
- Extensive experience with cloud platforms (Azure, Databricks) and modern data architectures (lakehouse, data warehousing).
- Knowledge of real-time data ingestion, orchestration, and workflow management (e.g., Airflow, Azure Data Factory).
- Experience with DevOps/DataOps, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform).
- Solid understanding of data governance, quality, security, and compliance standards.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.
- Fluency in English; Dutch proficiency is a plus.
- Consulting or client‑facing experience, MLOps knowledge, and familiarity with modern analytics tools (dbt, Looker) are desirable.
