GenAI Governance & Operations Lead (Commercial) | Pharma / Life Sciences | Hybrid NJ, Boston or Remote EST | 12 month Contract
A global biopharma organization is looking for a GenAI Governance & Operations leader to help scale responsible AI across commercial teams.
This role sits at the intersection of AI, compliance, security, and commercial operations, ensuring generative AI solutions are secure, compliant, and production-ready across the US and Europe.
Duration: 12-month contract
What You’ll Do- Lead AI governance across security, legal, privacy, and compliance
- Build the operating model for GenAI in commercial teams (marketing, omnichannel, CRM, market access, insights)
- Define guardrails for AI use in promotional and non-promotional workflows
- Implement AI operations (MLOps/AIOps) for scalable, production deployments
- Partner with cross-functional leaders across IT, compliance, medical, and commercial
- Drive risk management, model validation, and audit readiness
- Establish monitoring, documentation, and governance for GenAI systems and agents
- 8+ years in AI governance, ML/AI operations, or model risk
- Ideally coming from a Legal background – former lawyer is a huge plus!
- Experience deploying AI in regulated environments
- Strong understanding of Responsible AI frameworks (NIST AI RMF, EU AI Act, etc.)
- Background in pharma / life sciences commercial operations
- Experience with MLOps tools and cloud AI platforms
You’ll help launch and govern dozens of AI solutions supporting commercial and market access teams globally, while ensuring the organization operates responsibly and compliantly at scale.
