Job SummaryThe Department of Management at Middle Tennessee State University invites applicants for a full‑time, temporary (non‑tenurable) distance education faculty position (#111360) at the rank of lecturer. This is a one‑year temporary appointment. The contract may be renewed annually based on available funding, demonstrated need, and satisfactory performance as assessed by annual evaluations. The appointment start date is August 1, 2026.
The successful applicant will teach online in the Department of Management, including general management courses and master ’s‑level courses in the Master of Science in Management and the Master of Professional Studies degree programs. The position requires the online lecturer to regularly and predictably be available to online students both in class and during office hours. The posted online office hours should be the same number of hours required of lecturers teaching on‑campus courses. The successful candidate must be a resident of Tennessee by the appointment date and will be required to attend department meetings and meet with the department chair or MTSU administration as requested. Travel expenses are the responsibility of the faculty member. The online lecturer must complete the required training course offered by MTSU Online before teaching online courses.
Required EducationA terminal degree in business or a closely related social or behavioral science program, with a specialization in management, organizational behavior, leadership, human resources, industrial and organizational psychology, or a closely related field, is required by the appointment date. Candidates who are ABD (all but dissertation) are eligible and will be considered.
Other DesirablesApplicants with online college‑level teaching experience, online teaching certification, and related professional work experience will receive special consideration.
