The job responsibilities include:
• Design new and modernize existing applications in support of the Actuarial Transformation initiative
• Work with development teams and product owners/managers to build software solutions.
• Implement solutions using AWS cloud services.
• Write effective APIs.
• Work with large volumes of data in both relational and No SQL databases.
• Test software to ensure responsiveness and efficiency.
• Troubleshoot, debug and upgrade software
• Create security and data protection settings
• Write technical documentation
• Work with actuaries and analysts to elicit requirements for software development.
Job Requirements
Your Desired Skills:
• College Degree with one of the following preferred majors: Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Statistics, or relevant field.
• A strong understanding of Object-Oriented design concepts, data structures, and algorithms
• Practical coding experience, with a strong preference in Python, Pyspark, Java, and JavaScript frameworks (e.g. Angular, React, Node.js)
• Strong knowledge of developing Restful Services and APIs utilizing Python or Java. • Strong knowledge of the AWS Cloud ecosystem and Lambda Services
• Fundamental knowledge using SQL
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• An analytical mind with a willingness to learn
Other Comments: Experience with insurance industry and/or actuarial systems and processes is a plus
