The Opportunity
We are collaborating with manufacturing firms in Grand Rapids that are seeking skilled IT Systems Administrators. Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain server infrastructure (physical and virtual) for production and business systems.
- Administer and support network infrastructure, including firewalls, switches, and wireless access points across manufacturing sites.
- Implement and manage cybersecurity measures, including intrusion detection, vulnerability scanning, and access controls for operational technology (OT) and IT systems.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for hardware, software, and network issues affecting manufacturing operations.
- Develop and maintain system documentation, including configurations, procedures, and disaster recovery plans.
- Monitor system performance and capacity, ensuring high availability and reliability of critical manufacturing systems.
- 3-5 years experience as an IT Systems Administrator in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Proficient in managing and troubleshooting Windows Server environments (2016 or newer), Active Directory, Group Policy, and DNS.
- Demonstrated experience with virtualization technologies (VMware preferred) and storage solutions (SAN/NAS).
- Strong understanding of network protocols, firewalls, VPNs, and wireless technologies in an operational technology (OT) environment.
- Experience with industrial control systems (ICS) or SCADA systems and their integration with IT infrastructure.
- Experience with SCADA or MES systems.
- Familiarity with industrial networking protocols (e.g., Modbus TCP, EtherNet/IP).
- Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices in an OT environment.
- Experience supporting ERP systems commonly used in manufacturing (e.g., SAP, Oracle EBS).
