JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE
Applies engineering principles to develop, analyze and implement the distribution integrity plan in a safe, efficient and practical manner. Manages integrity program for assigned region(s) to include: developing system knowledge, identifying system threats, evaluating and ranking risk, measuring performance, monitoring results, and conducting periodic evaluations for plan improvement. This will also include integrating new federal regulations and providing guidance around best practices to mitigate system risk using technology-based tools, company standards and procedures.
ACCOUNTABILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Manage Distribution Integrity Management Plan (DIMP) implementation for assigned region(s)
- Analyze system data and subject matter expert input to best identify areas for resource allocation to reduce system risk
- Attend and participate in regional distribution integrity management audits
- Conduct regional subject matter expert DIMP meetings
- Assess new regulations for appropriate measures to address relevant threats to our system
- Utilize, assess and, where necessary, implement new software tools or software updates to enhance integrity management
- Utilize, assess and, where necessary, implement new company procedures or standards to enhance integrity management
- Work with assigned region(s), both engineering and operations, to understand system threats and select projects to mitigate risk
- Travel to and interact with assigned region(s), both engineering and operations, on a regular basis to adjust as necessary throughout the plan cycle
Minimum education required of the position
- Requires a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Civil or other approved engineering discipline from an accredited college or university.
Minimum experience required of the position
- Requires a minimum of 2 years' experience in utility design or related project construction design.
- Applicants with fewer years of experience will be considered at a lower-level engineer position.
Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities preferred of the position
- Experience working within the utilities, energy, or regulatory industries
- Experience working with nonprofit organizations
- Familiarity with Louisiana or regional political and community landscapes
- Established relationships with local political leaders, community organizations, and civic groups
- Professional and organizational skills to engage executive leadership and governmental organizations
- Comfortability with public speaking
- Experience with community outreach or customer service; appreciation for community resources
Any certificates, licenses, etc. required for the position
- Preferred: Professional Engineer License
Physical Requirements
- Able to operate a motor vehicle, including the ability to enter and exit vehicle unassisted.
- Able to perform on-site inspections.
- Able to operate a personal computer, either desktop or laptop.
- Able to sit for extended periods of time.
- Able to exert up to 50 Lbs. of force occasionally, and /or a minimal amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push or otherwise move objects.

- Able to wear and operate personal protective equipment, such as respirator, safety glasses, hardhat, gloves, protective footwear and earplugs daily.
- May be required to remain in the service area during emergency events and assume responsibilities assigned by the company to aide in restoration efforts.
