Oak Grove Children's Center, a small nonprofit childcare center, is seeking a compassionate and experienced early childhood educator to team-teach in the preschool room. The ideal candidate will be deeply committed to nurturing the emotional and intellectual development of young children, using their knowledge of developmental milestones and implementing our center-approved curriculum.

About the Role
This position works directly with our older toddlers/young preschoolers; however, the strong candidate should feel comfortable engaging with children from birth to age five. We're looking for someone who is:
- Self-motivated and creative
- Detail-oriented and able to multitask
- Calm, positive, and patient
- An excellent communicator, both verbally and in writing
Qualifications
- Must submit to and pass a Minnesota DCYF background check
- A minimum of a 2-year degree in Early Childhood Education or related field from an accredited institution OR a current Child Development Associate (CDA) credential
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and appropriate behavior management strategies is required.
- Prior experience as a lead teacher in a licensed childcare setting
Duties
- Ensure the health and safety of all children through active supervision and positive engagement
- Build trusting relationships with children, families, and staff through empathy and nurturing care
- Implement the center-provided curriculum that supports emotional, social, physical, and cognitive development
- Use positive behavior guidance and discipline techniques
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment that is appealing, encouraging exploration, creativity, and learning.
- Develop daily routines that balance activity, learning, and rest
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians
- Collaborate with parents, caregivers, and other educators to support children's development and well-being
- Assess and monitor children's developmental progress and share insights during biannual conferences
- Support toilet-learning when developmentally appropriate
- Complete required documentation and paperwork promptly
- Follow all center policies and DCYF regulations
- Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in early childhood education, and other DCYF mandated course-work
- Demonstrate initiative in collaborating with colleagues to support smooth daily operations
- Attend all staff meetings as set by the center's leadership
- Must be flexible with availability
