This role is focused on legal execution and case ownership, not firm management or operational leadership.We are looking for a strong legal mind: an experienced immigration attorney who takes ownership of their work, operates with rigor and accountability, and wants to grow with a firm that is building something long-term.Responsibilities:Types of Cases You’ll Work On (in order of volume):• Asylum, Humanitarian relief (VAWA, U visas, Deferred Action, Military PIP), Removal Defense, Family Petitions, Consular Processing, Waivers, NIW, DACA, TPS, EB2, E2, and H-1B. This mix may evolve as the firm grows. We actively invest in training and professional development to support expansion into new case types.Legal Drafting & Advocacy• Analyze cases and develop legal strategies to serve clients’ objectives• Conduct legal research and draft correspondence, pleadings, motions, and briefs• Represent clients in court to argue motions during legal proceedings• Take full ownership of case outcomes, ensuring matters are handled strategically and brought to a resolutionCourt Representation• Represent clients in immigration court (remotely or in person, as required) for master and individual hearings (Asylum and COR cases only)• Must be willing and able to travel when needed• Serve as primary counsel of record in EOIR matters, with the firm maintaining continuity of representation as neededLegal Development and Strategy• Identify legal risks and case vulnerabilities early and develop strategies to address them proactively• Monitor immigration law developments, policy changes, and practice advisories• Incorporate updates into firm procedures, templates, and case strategiesCollaboration & Case Execution• Maintain accurate and timely records of all work performed, including time tracking and detailed case notes in the firm’s case management system.• Work closely with the Case Manager and the administrative team to ensure cases move efficiently• Identify workflow issues and propose process improvements• Participate in team meetings to align priorities and production goals• Effectively leverage and delegate to support staff to prioritize high-value legal work, including strategy, advocacy, and consultationsClient Communication & Representation• Conduct legal consultations and evaluate the viability of potential cases, providing clear recommendations to the intake team• Provide clear next steps following consultations to support case conversion and onboarding• Engage directly with clients on legal strategy, critical decisions, and case resolution, while support teams manage routine communication and updates• Handle high-level inquiries or escalations requiring attorney involvement• Maintain professional and ethical client relationships consistent with firm standardsQualifications:• 7+ years of immigration law experience• Demonstrated experience handling asylum, humanitarian relief (VAWA, U visas, Military PIP), and removal defense cases, including cancellation of removal• Strong working knowledge of family-based petitions, consular processing, and waivers, along with select employment-based matters (including NIW, E-2, and H-1B)• Proven ability to manage cases independently from legal strategy through final resolution• Excellent legal writing skills, with the ability to draft persuasive motions and briefs beyond standard templates• Strong judgment, accountability, and attention to detail in managing an active caseload• Comfortable working within a structured, team-based environment, where support staff handle day-to-day communication and administrative functions• Willingness to appear in court (remote or in person) and travel as needed• Spanish fluency preferred, but not requiredAbout Company: The mission of The Immigration Force PLLC is to give each client the best odds to win their immigration case.We have created a prosperous venture that is constantly improving, where our job has purpose, and we enjoy the freedom to live anywhere in the world, whilst we contribute to the betterment of the United States.We believe true teamwork begins with self-accountability.
