About the Job

The Therapist I is a part of the multidisciplinary team responsible for providing direct clinical services to clients and their families with emphasis on completing psychosocial assessments; providing individual, group and family therapy for clients; facilitating psycho-educational training, family meetings, discharge planning; assisting in program development; developing, implementing, and reviewing Treatment Plans; and providing linkage to outside resources.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct psychosocial assessments and develop initial discharge plans.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans for clients based on assessment and coordinate any additional services needed, revising as necessary.
  • Conduct individual, group or family sessions as appropriate for the treatment plan of the client.
  • Apply psychotherapeutic techniques and interventions in the delivery of services to individuals and families for the treatment of diagnosed emotional and behavioral disorders.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary treatment planning conferences. Present appropriate client information to the treatment team. Recommend effective treatment interventions.
  • Maintain a caseload as assigned.
  • Develop and implement special client groups or program modules.
  • Timely prepare progress notes and treatment updates in the medical record. Maintain all clinical documentation in accordance with regulatory and accrediting standards.
  • Ensure each assigned client has a structured and clinically appropriate post-care plan. Act as liaison to referral sources and support continuation of care.
  • Provide crisis intervention to clients and families in acute distress.
  • Provide introduction and initial coordination of a wide range of community resources: financial, housing, legal, social/recreational, occupational, spiritual and support groups.
  • May perform case management, discharge or aftercare planning as needed.
Education/Experience/Skills Requirements
  • Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling or Psychology required.
  • At least one year of experience as a therapist with all age groups required.
  • Indiana Social Work licensure
