The Classroom and Audio/Visual Specialist provides technical support for the use of media equipment with integrated control systems associated with presentations, classroom instruction and campus events. This position works collaboratively within Information Technology Services to troubleshoot problems and ensure that classroom equipment is working properly and campus events run smoothly. It is also the primary contact for vendors for classroom and meeting room equipment. This is a full time, on-campus position. Responsibilities
  • Work collaboratively with Information Technology Services to troubleshoot and resolve issues with classroom and meeting room equipment in a timely fashion.
  • Provide availability to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
  • Maintain audio/visual systems including camera, projectors, televisions, and speakers.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting on Windows and macOS systems.
  • Participate in professional development activities and keep abreast of current and emerging trends, technologies and methods.
  • Assist faculty and staff in using systems properly.
  • Co‑ordinate with vendors on planning, installation and repair of media equipment in classrooms and meeting rooms on campus.
  • Obtain quotes from vendors.
  • Schedule and communicate installations with vendors of equipment.
Requirements
  • HS/GED required.
  • Minimum of three years related experience in setting up, repairing, and troubleshooting audio/video systems, data projection and other classroom or campus event audio/visual technologies.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills, ability to work both as part of a team and independently to provide excellent customer service.
  • Occasional evening or weekend hours if needed for an event.
Physical Demands
  • Frequently requires ability to lift 10 lbs, and occasionally up to 100 lbs.
  • Consistently requires twisting, reaching, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, squatting, crawling, kneeling, climbing stairs and ladders, balancing and reaching above shoulder and down to floor, standing, walking, traveling from building to building multiple times a day.

$22.72/hr (approx $44k)
