Summary:
The internship in School Social Work provides supervised experience in direct service and consultation for Bucks County students, ages 0-21. Students may be included in regular education or receive instruction in a special education program. The experience provides the Social Work intern with direct supervision in both direct services to students as well as opportunities to network with supporting community agencies on behalf of students. This internship is designed to meet the minimum hourly requirements for the intern to receive certification in the Pennsylvania
Essential Functions:
- Individual and group work including problem-solving, coping skills, social skills, adaptive skills
- Parent education and support
- Program and curriculum development to support student emotional/social needs
- Consultation with school and agency staff
- IEP and/or MDT participation
- Crisis intervention
- Resource coordination

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: Options for internships include two semesters (full year) or one semester (half year) starting in the beginning of the school year.
