Sr. Full Stack Engineer | Java & AEM

12-Month High-Impact Contract | Hybrid (San Antonio, TX)

Are you a Java expert who thrives at the intersection of complex architecture and elegant user experience? We are looking for a Subject Matter Expert to serve as a technical linchpin for a major digital modernization initiative. This isn’t just a “coding” role—you will be the architect and mentor responsible for designing secure, high-performance cloud solutions that serve thousands.

Location & Compensation

Location: San Antonio, Texas

Job Type: Contract

Salary: $60.00 – 61.50 per hour

Work Hours: 8am to 5pm

Education: Bachelors

Responsibilities

Designs, develops, tests, and maintains software solutions to meet customer requirements. Tasks include requirements analysis, documentation, error/exception handling, business process implementation, performance analysis/improvements and technology research.

• Good understanding of full stack secure cloud technologies, software development and architectures.
• Maintain and enhance existing system design through strong DevOps and test-driven development skills.
• Strong understanding of Web Services and SOAP integrations of third‑party and remote systems.
• Expert knowledge in optimizing SQL relational operations including direct query, caching mechanisms, read/write clustering, etc.
• Knowledge of DevOps tools/platforms IDEs (Eclipse, IntelliJ), GitHub, Jenkins, Jira, Azure App Service best practices and system integrations.
• Knowledge of the configuration and management of Apache Stack Tomcat for hosting Java Web Applications.
• Knowledge of SSL and encryption methodologies.
• Expert experience in full‑stack application design and development.
• Manage oversight and code review of reporting developers.
• Responsible for development and documentation standards.
• Perform peer reviews to ensure compliance and oversee project documentation.

Qualifications

Subject Matter Expert experience in web‑based IT solutions.

• Primary technical skill area: Java and/or web programming, including JSP, Servlets, JDBC, web services, mobile, Angular, React, React Native, VueJS, JSON, HTML web development, relational database design and application development (Oracle, DB2, etc.), including SQL queries, PL/SQL, Oracle APEX, DB2, etc., and hands‑on developer application server experience with Apache Tomcat, WebSphere Application Server or other.
• Experience with one or more development methodologies (waterfall, Agile, RUP, etc.).
• Object‑oriented programming experience.
• Expert in the design and implementation of APIs and modern technology architectures.

Preferred Qualifications

• Adobe AEM/EDS experience.
• UI/UX development experience.
• UI/UX ADA Compliance.
• Java/J2EE Oracle Stack Developer.
• Knowledge of OWASP and familiarity with web application vulnerabilities.
• Experience with CI/CD pipeline configurations and management.
• Working knowledge of source control software (SVN or Git), build and deployment tools (Maven, Jenkins, Gradle).
