Job Summary: Provide technical support to computer systems users, answer questions and/or resolve computer problems for clients in person, via telephone, or from remote locations. May provide assistance with both hardware and software applications, including printing, installations, word processing, electronic mail, and operating systems. Troubleshoot problems with other office equipment such as fax machines, digital sending equipment, etc.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • End user support and training for Windows OS and applications.
  • PC construction, repair, and maintenance
  • Industrial bar-coding equipment maintenance, repair, and support
  • Technical and end user documentation generation and maintenance.
  • Maintenance/troubleshooting on various electronic office equipment.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • College degree in IT or related field or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to analyze and troubleshoot computer problems.
  • Some Unix/Linux exposure is a plus.
Essential Functions of the Job:
  • May stand and walk several hours or more per day.
  • Sits for several hours or more per day.
  • Sometimes lifts and carries heavy objects.
  • Bends, stretches, reaches and twists while performing duties of the job.
  • Frequently uses fingers to operate telephone, grasp and use writing implements and papers, operate calculator and computer, and perform other job duties.
  • Must be capable of communicating effectively with management, coworkers, subordinates, and customers, both over the phone and in person.
  • Must be alert and able to identify a hazard should one occur in order to avoid it by correcting immediately or reporting immediately as necessary.
Technical Skills:
  • Ability to analyze and troubleshoot technical problems, gather technical requirements, and design/implement solutions.
  • Good communication skills are a must (technical, management, and end-user)
  • Ability to work both independently and with a team.
  • Knowledge of Linux and Windows servers a plus.
  • Other languages and technologies a plus.
