Position Summary:
Responsible for the overall operations, implementation, and evaluation of activities for inpatient and emergency care at SRMC. The role involves supervisory duties, directing staff, ensuring safe patient care, fiscal management, compliance, staff development, and performance improvement. The role includes diverse work situations, operates independently, and contributes to developing new concepts. Ensures adherence to hospital policies and provides care to various age groups including Neonate, Adolescent, Adult, and Geriatric.
Detailed responsibilities:
- PATIENT SAFETY - Follow policies, proactively seek safety improvements, identify/report environmental risks, report safety concerns, and encourage patient participation.
- COORDINATION - Collaborate with hospital departments for patient placement.
- DECISION MAKING - Participate in planning and staff development decisions.
- UTILIZATION & COMPLIANCE - Ensure cost-effective resource utilization and regulatory compliance.
- PERFORMANCE & POLICY - Conduct performance evaluations, maintain policies, and participate in quality initiatives.
- PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT - Engage in ongoing education and training.
- CLINICAL PRACTICE - Develop and maintain practice standards and guidelines.
- QUALITY & LIAISON - Participate in quality improvement and serve as liaison among hospital entities.
- TRANSFERS & REPORTING - Manage patient transfers and report incidents.
- PATIENT CARE & SUPERVISION - Assign duties, supervise staff, respond to emergencies, and provide emotional support.
Education:
- Essential: Program Graduate
- Nonessential: Bachelor's Degree, BSN or MSN
Experience:
- Essential: 3 years related experience
Credentials:
- Essential: Basic Arrhythmia Cert, PALS, RN license in NM, CPR, ACLS, TNCC
- Nonessential: Instructor certifications, National Certification
Physical Conditions: Medium work exerting 20-50 pounds occasionally, 10-25 pounds frequently, exceeding light work requirements.
Working conditions: Potential exposure to dirt, dust, fumes, odors, weather, and noise.
