The R&D Technical Services Specialist supports production process improvements, scale-up of new formulas, and technical troubleshooting in a manufacturing environment. This role works closely with R&D, Operations, and Maintenance to improve efficiency, resolve equipment issues, and ensure successful transfer of new products into production.
Key Responsibilities
- Support formulation and process design for powders, tablets, and capsules.
- Troubleshoot production issues and assist with new product introductions.
- Work with Maintenance to diagnose equipment issues and improve output.
- Analyze production efficiency and recommend process or formula improvements.
- Conduct time and motion studies to reduce costs and improve productivity.
- Manage product scale-ups and commercial pilots to meet specifications.
- Troubleshoot formulations and manage raw material variation.
- Recommend best practices for machine setup and equipment utilization.
- Assist with operator training for new products and processes.
- Perform other related duties as needed.
- Ability to interpret safety procedures, SOPs, and regulatory documentation.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
- Spanish fluency is a plus.
- 3+ years in technical services within nutraceutical, pharmaceutical, or food manufacturing.
- 8+ years of dietary supplement formulation experience.
- 8+ years working with compression and encapsulation equipment.
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, or related field.
