Required Qualifications
  • CPC and CRC certifications (both required)
  • 5+ years of hands-on HCC coding experience
  • Direct Medicare Advantage (CMS) risk adjustment experience
  • California-based candidates only
  • Strong understanding of HCC capture, recapture, and suspecting
  • Familiarity with MEAT criteria and RAF impact
  • Proven experience in chart review, audit, and validation
  • Ability to interact professionally with providers
  • Knowledge of CMS guidelines and compliance

A Day in the Life
  • Review clinical charts to identify appropriate HCC codes
  • Validate and recapture HCCs through audit and chart abstraction
  • Collaborate with providers to clarify documentation gaps
  • Ensure coding aligns with CMS and compliance standards
  • Document findings and communicate with internal teams
  • Support audit and validation processes to improve accuracy
